Many units in the University are receiving requests for refunds from students and staff for services and activities disrupted due to the closure of McGill campuses during the COVID-19 pandemic. A working group was struck to create principles governing what refunds would be given and why, so that units could begin to implement refunds consistently across campus.

For the sake of simplicity, the Working Group categorized refund requests into four groups.
