We hope you’ve had a lovely Easter break and have settled in to a routine while staying home. Summer term arrangements Last week we emailed you a message from the VC, outlining arrangements for the summer term that is scheduled to begin on Monday 27 April 2020. The email included important information about assessments, results, graduation and module enrolment. Support for students We know the current situation will have an impact on many different aspects of your life. Advice and support for international students We know that many of you who are still in Leeds are international students. We recognise that this is a very difficult time for you. We also are aware of the challenges faced by those of you who have returned to your home country and are doing all you can to stay in touch with the University. Government letter to international students The Minister of State for Universities, Michelle Donelan MP, has written about steps the UK government has taken to mitigate the effects of covid-19 on international students. The letter emphasises the health, safety and wellbeing of international students is of extreme importance, provides an overview of the latest guidance, and links to a set of resources that may be useful. It also contains information for students who are worried about their visa status. Advice and support for students with a disability We understand that disabled students may have particular concerns about coronavirus, both in terms of the impact on their health and wellbeing, and in accessing existing one to one support through Disability Services. Looking after yourself We hope you are now settled in your staying at home routine and you are finding time to look after your mental and physical health. Online learning advice Get ready for next semester by familiarising yourself with online learning resources. Our dedicated section on the coronavirus website( https://coronavirus.leeds.ac.uk/student-advice/online-learning-advice-for-students/university-systems-for-remote-learning/ ) includes information about systems you can use from home, information about online library resources and courses that can help support you with your learning.

Ramadan Kareem Many of you will begin fasting this week as you observe the month of Ramadan( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramadan ). As you enter into this period of reflection and spiritual renewal, we hope everyone stays healthy, safe and united, despite the current challenges we face. Erasmus+ placements Students whose Erasmus+ placements have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic will have been contacted last week about their entitlement to Erasmus+ funding for their placement and directed to information about the Erasmus+ grant for students affected by coronavirus( https://students.leeds.ac.uk/info/1000027/study_abroad_funding_and_costs/1310/information_about_the_erasmus_grant_for_students_affected_by_covid-19 ). Further questions should be directed to erasmusdocumentation@leeds.ac.uk (Erasmus+ study placements) or erasmuswork@leeds.ac.uk (Erasmus+ work placements).

Stop and think before you click Universities are currently being targeted by an increased number of phishing and scam emails, often related to the coronavirus pandemic. Stop and think before you click, and be extra vigilant for phishing emails. If you click on a suspicious link or think your account has been compromised contact IT Service Desk immediately.
